The Live From The Casita Songwriter Search (the “Contest”) is presented and sponsored by Mellow Minds Media LLC, a Florida limited liability company, doing business as Live From The Casita, [business address] (“Sponsor”), and hosted on the Live From The Casita brand.
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.
Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry. Employees, contractors, and judges of Sponsor, and their immediate family members, are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
The Contest begins [start date and time, Eastern Time] and ends [end date and time, Eastern Time] (the “Entry Period”). Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period are void. Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeper.
Complete the entry form at livefromthecasita.com/search, including all required fields and a working link to one (1) original song. Limit one (1) entry per artist or band. Incomplete entries are void.
The submitted song must be original. By entering, you represent and warrant that you own or control all rights in the song, or have permission from all writers and performers, that the song does not infringe or misappropriate any third party’s copyright, trademark, right of publicity, or other right, and that it contains no uncleared samples or interpolations. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sponsor and its members, officers, employees, agents, and licensees from any claim, loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your entry or any breach of these representations.
Entries are judged on songwriting quality (30%), performance potential (20%), emotional connection (20%), fit with Live From The Casita (15%), and readiness to record/film (15%) by a panel of qualified judges selected by Sponsor. Winner selection is based on skill, not chance. In the event of a tie, the entry with the highest songwriting-quality score will be selected.
One (1) winner receives: $500 cash; a recording session at an external studio (winner retains ownership of the resulting master); a filmed Live From The Casita episode and a podcast featuring the song; and promotional features across Mellow Minds Media and Live From The Casita channels. Approximate retail value (ARV): $[____]. The prize is non-transferable; no substitution except by Sponsor, which may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize becomes unavailable.
The winner will be notified by [email and/or phone] within [number] days of selection and must respond within [number] days of notification. If the winner cannot be reached, declines, is found ineligible, or fails to sign required documents, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate selected.
The winner retains ownership of the studio master and of the song. By accepting the prize, the winner grants Sponsor (a) a non-exclusive promotional license to use the studio recording in Sponsor’s marketing and promotion, and (b) the right to record, produce, distribute, and monetize the Live From The Casita episode and podcast, including the winner’s performance, name, and likeness, under a separate written release. All co-writers and band members who have an interest in the song or who appear must sign that release before recording or filming.
Except where prohibited, accepting the prize authorizes Sponsor to use the winner’s name, likeness, and entry for promotional purposes without additional notice, approval, or compensation.
The winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes on the prize. Where the total value of a prize awarded after December 31, 2025 meets or exceeds the applicable IRS reporting threshold ($2,000), the winner must complete and return a Form W-9 before the prize is awarded, and Sponsor will issue a Form 1099-MISC. Failure to provide required tax information may result in forfeiture.
Except for the rights the winner grants in Section 10, entrants retain all rights in their submissions, and Sponsor claims no ownership of or license to any entry beyond what is reasonably necessary to administer and judge the Contest. Sponsor is not obligated to keep any entry confidential, and no confidential or fiduciary relationship is created by an entry. Sponsor and its personnel develop and review a large volume of creative material, and Sponsor is not liable to any entrant on the basis that material later created, produced, or used by Sponsor is similar to or competitive with an entry.
By entering, you release and agree to hold harmless Sponsor and its members, officers, employees, agents, and licensees from any and all claims arising out of or related to your participation in the Contest and the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. The prize is awarded “as is” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sponsor’s total liability arising out of or related to the Contest will not exceed the actual value of the prize, and Sponsor will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Sponsor may disqualify any entry that is incomplete, ineligible, infringing, or in violation of these rules, and may modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest if it cannot be run as planned, including due to tampering, fraud, technical failure, or any cause beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control.

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, YouTube, or any other platform. Entrants release these platforms from any and all liability.
These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [Sarasota] County, Florida.
